Even though Latinos are an ever-increasing population, the dominant society continues to ignore us and treat us as an invisible people. Ya Basta! I commend Dr. Maggie Rivas-Rodriguez for acting on this. We are proud of war heroes Macario Garcia of Sugarland/Houston and Roy Benavidez of El Campo and the other Latinos who comprised 40% of all Texans in World War II that received the coveted Congressional Medal of Honor.
