There are so many of these stories surfacing now. My suggestion is for that these incidents should be used to have a dialog on race that still permeates American society. Look at what they did at the Jena High School. They cut the tree down when they could have used it to educate the young people about how race plays a continuing role in their lives and what they could do to reduce the legacy of racism in this country. Protest is good, but let’s get some more mileage out of racial incidents like this one at UK.

This headline is so misleading. UK could also mean United Kingdom.

I too was confused by the headline. I thought is was a university in England.
THe author and publisher of the newspaper apologized and they seemed sincere. I think it showed a lack of judgement but it doesnt sound like the intent was harmful. Maybe this will open more discussion- fair and civilized and not turn to something violent.

You can do whatever you want and make a “sincere” apology afterward and everybody is ok again. Pretty stupid if you ask me.
