I think this is a great idea. More institutions of higher learning should jump on the band wagon. A good education should be available to all children; not just a select few. Our world depends on the next generation being well educated.

The Rutgers Future Scholars Program exemplifies what every state university in this country should do to realize the public university system’s implicit mission: to ensure that all citizens, irrespective of race and class, be granted the opportunity to receive an affordable college education.

I’m excited about this! My daughter is currently in the eighth grade, and I have been like a jack hammer trying to instill in her brain how important college is, and for an opportunity like this to be available, I’m hoping she can and will be chosen.
I haad the opportunity to recieve an acedemic scholorship when I graduated High School, and at the last minute I chickened out, afraid of being on my own, and having to be responsible for myself.
More Colleges should initiate this type of program, today’s generation needs that head start.
