Dennis Champlain’s grandfather helped win federal recognition for the Narragansett Indian Tribe. Later, Champlain danced in tribal powwows. He teaches his children that they are Narragansetts.

    I pray The Great Spirit will get our full-blood Red brothers and sisters in hand…Have them to search their hearts and burn off the White racism that allows those who look White rather than Black to be better accepted as quarter-bloods/other affiliation. I ask the Great Spirit, Mother Earth and all the Star Beings to cleans the minds of my “still recognized” Red brothers and sisters to rise up and right this wrong.
