NAACP Wants Apology From Overstock Chief
The founder of Overstock.com rejected the NAACP’s demand for an apology last week after an Internet video surfaced of him saying that Utah minorities who don’t graduate from high school might as well be burned or thrown away.

The NAACP wants a lot of things it doesn’t get. He doesn’t need to apologize. If the NAACP wanted to jump all over him, its representative should have done so at the debate.
Here is why his position that vouchers would be good even for the poor kids. If more kids take the $3k to $500 to go to a private school, they are leaving the $4,500 to $7k on the table that the school would have spent on them during the school year but now doesn’t have to because they are going to a private school. This means more money for the students who stay in public schools. The child going to the private school gets a better education but so does the kid in the public school because the amount of money available per public school student increases as kids opt for private schools. It’s a great plan that I hope is taken advantage of across the country with Utah taking the lead.
