Morgan State Students Chose Bullet Over Fraternity Hazing

The debate over Black fraternities’ and sororities’ handling of hazing problems has reopened after two Morgan State University students asked another student to shoot them in their legs in an effort to avoid a fraternity initiation ritual.

The whole frat thing is just plain stupid, in my opinion.
And those that participate in these silly social organizations are so needy and vulnerable is easy for them to fall victim to this type of abuse and manipulation. “Shoot me?” Please.

I was surprised to find this article posted on Diverseeducation.com, dated May 23, 2007. As the spokesman for Morgan State, I could have set the record straight had I been contacted by the reporter. As reported in the Baltimore Sun on the same day as this story was released, one of the young men involved, who was not a Morgan student, acted out of fear of being sent to Iraq, not of any fraternity on campus. I hope Diverseeducation.com, which always strives for balance and accuracy in its reporting, will make an attempt to set the record straight on this matter.

You know what? I am so sick and tired of hearing all this crap everyday I go to school about the ACT/SAT! It’s over rated. It’s not accurate at all! Some people just have better test taking abilities than others!!!!! So listen here….I am currently a senior in high school and I have straight A’s because I’m responsible and I do my homework and work my butt off in the class room! So I go and take the ACT several of times but I don’t make a high good enough score to get into a program at this college. So my dreams of my job are shot all to hell and no other colleges offer this program in my state!!!!! But guess what? There is this other kid in my school that never comes to school, sleeps in class,party’s, and has straight D’s and F’s and they make a perfectly good 30 on their ACT! So now they get to go to whatever college they freakin’ want to. So now what? I’ll tell ya what. That person will go to college and get into that “party life” and just be lazy like they were in high school and flunk out when I could have been a perfectly good student that would have finished my degree because I have the drive and motive to do so!!!!!! So now I have to go find some random degree and have some random job that I don’t even really like because I wasn’t accepted!!!!!!!!!!!!
