This story of Wilson’s redemption and his enrolling in Morehouse College is just the right place for him to re-establish himself into the real world we call life. However, am concerned about the fraternity mentoring him. Primarily, he should mentored by the college professors or seniors at the school who have a vested interest in his progress. Don’t get me wrong any type of mentoring is great. In today society our young males need the support of anyone who is willing to foster a relationship that will be meaningful. Let me be clear Wilson is going about this situation correctly to ensure his success is important for all associated with him. In closing, his life will be his choice to make and attend any college is a great start.

i THINK THIS IS ONE OF THOSE STORIES WHICH MAKES ME FEEL THAT THERE IS SOME JUSTICE IN THIS WORLD. THIS YOUNG AMN HAS LEARNED A HARD LESSON , BUT HAVING UNDERSTOOD THAT ADVERSITY IS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE, HE HAS WISELY CHOSEN TO GO TO COLLEGE. AN EDUCATION IS A PREPARATION FOR LIFE AND HE UNDERSTANDS THAT A LIFE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WITHOUT ONE IS VERY LIMITED. THE NEW BUREAU OF CENSUS FIGURES ON EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT AND RACE SHOULD DISPEL ANYONE FROM ENCOURAGING OUR YOUNG, MALES AND FEMALES THAT HEALTHY FAMILIES BEGIN WITH A COLLEGE EDUCATION AS A MININUM. THAKS TO THE TOM JOYNER FOUNDATION FOR PROVIDING THE FINANCIALS TO HELP THIS YOUNG MAN ACHIEVE THIS AND ACHIEVE I THINK HE WILL.

Morehouse, Brother Tom Joyner and the Brothers of Omega Psi Phi are all to be commended. Genarlow Wilson, needs the support of the community to get his life back on track. It is a wonderful thing that he is being embraced by these men and the academic community. There are others whose cases will have different circumstances, yet their needs will be the same. Lets do more of this. Those of us who have been saved have been saved to serve. I personally know and thank God for His forgiveness, mercy and grace. My prayer is that these young men and women will continue to be receptive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit as Genarlow Wilson was. To God be the glory!
