Affirmative Action Bans Hurt Male Student Enrollment

According to a new study, released by the University of California, Los Angeles, (UCLA), college admission rates of Asian American students at select public universities have thrived in the absence of affirmative action, whereas the admission rates of Black, Hispanic and White students have declined.

Why is it wrong to rely heavily on traditional measures of merit like grades and test scores? These have always been the best predictors for who will actually complete the college education.

“This action not only reduced the diversity of their [Whites] educational experience, but it also affected its quality by limiting the expression of different viewpoints in and out of the classroom. As one of the authors of this essay remarked on many occasions, ‘affirmative action is not just for ‘them,’ it is for all of us.”

As a White male, I can honestly say that I don’t care if my White male son has reduced “diversity” in his college experience. If he goes to a school that happens to be 95% Asian, Black, Hispanic or White then so be it.

To say that the expression of different viewpoints inside and outside of the classroom is limited by skin color is severely underinformed and racist. First of all, universities are run almost exclusively by liberals and speech codes demand that all communications be PC to the point that any semblance of free speech is quickly and quietly stamped out. Second, contrary to popular belief, people of any race can hold the same viewpoints and opinions of people of any other race, or have viewpoints and opinions entirely of their own. To say that race determines one’s life experiences and what they can add to discussions is, well, racist.

Who does affirmative action benefit? We don’t know. No one is willing to release internal studies of affirmative action effectiveness. Prof. Sanders at UCLA has produced some research that shows it to be counterproductive for minorities that are favored and the Center of Equal Opportunity have proven that admissions standards at several top universities have been drastically lowered to meet self-imposed AA quotas. The fact that more comprehensive studies by proponents of affirmative action have not been released is a sure sign that they are either not as effective as one would have you think or that they are counterproductive.

Isn’t it great how the U.S. can so easily continue to keep indigenous Americans and the offspring of slaves brought to the Americas poorly educated, poor and oppressed by simply pulling a lever?

Of course, lower educational achievement for Blacks and Latinos means higher unemployment, underemployment, homelessness, alcoholism, drug abuse, crime, delinquency, domestic violence, divorce and incarceration rates; all those bad things the master race likes to see in Minority communities as it strives to conquer the world in the name of “freedom and democracy.”

How convenient that they can blame the victims of their institutionalized racism for the effects of this covert racism. White-collar racists do not need to hide under hooded sheets anymore; the U.S. Constitution permits them to discriminate all they want.

  4. Lloyd Hansen Says:

Ruben, you are the epitome of what affirmative action was designed to fight against: hateful racists. Unfortunately the diversity training methods of most organizations are slanted to be anti-White and you have been drinking the kool-aid. The unforeseen, or foreseen but largely ignored, consequence of AA programs is entitlement. Racial entitlements cause mass hysteria when they are taken from some groups and given to another. Prime examples are playing out in India, South Africa and currently in Michigan. Racial entitlements have got to stop somewhere, why not start in the US right now?
