Just the Stats: Science Foundation Program Producing Results
More than 200,000 students from underrepresented populations have so far participated in a program started by the National Science Foundation to increase minority representation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines, according to the foundation.

Because of NSF’s sustained commitment to broadening participation in the science workforce by increasing its support for the LS-AMP program, the program has able to maintain an average of 667 graduates per year per alliance as it increased the number of alliances from 6 to 38.
In a “flat world,” LS AMP is one of the nations best strategies for preparing a globally competitive workforce where all the nation’s talent is utilized.
