Study: Immigrants Create Hi-Tech Firms, Not Take Jobs From Americans

In a new study, researchers from Duke University, the University of California-Berkeley, and the Kauffman Foundation show that there is a strong correlation between educational attainment in the STEM disciplines and innovation among immigrant founders of U.S.-based engineering and technology companies.

    I lived in Liberia between 1872 and 1978. During that period of time I often asked my friends in government why Liberia failed to offer overseas contracts to African Americans. All technicians, managers, engineers, etc. were Caucasians from Europe and America. No one ever answered my question, but I learned it on my own.

    Now Liberia is supposedly seeking African American educators. However, when I applied for a faculty position, I was offered $500/month by one university, and was turned down by the other. It appears that as fast as Mme. President lights fires of interest, the universities themselves are dousing those fires with water by offering salaries that do not pay expatriates a livable wage.
