The other drawback for me becoming licensed is MONEY. It is soo expensive to take exams. As an architectural graduate, I find it difficult to budget for the exams. My salary now does not adequately cover my cost of living and have money left over for exams.

Your excellent article failed to mention that 1) Prof. Bowden is a Professor of the Practice in the Architecture Program of the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Maryland, and 2) that the diversity initiative which Prof. Bowden so ably led is part of the Program’s strategic plan to maintain Maryland’s place among public universities most open to diversity, and to help the architecture profession realize the increasing benefits of diversity, nationally and globally.

Great article!! There was just one little mistake made in reference to Miami Dade College - it was the School of Architecture and not the School of Engineering that was being written about in reference to the diverse faculty.
