  1. Lloyd Hansen Says:

There are two seperate and distinct groups of immigrants that should be treated differently. Legal immigrants are not at the heart of political debate and are not the intended victims of hate crimes. Legal immigrants have all of the protections of US citizens. Law abiding citizens have no qualms with legal immigrants.

Illegal aliens are the hot topic and it is understandable that so many legal citizens would be upset that illegal aliens are here in the first place. Illegal aliens cause a disproportionate amount of crime, rarely speak English and many believe they are a drain on the economy and government resources. It’s no wonder that there is violence against illegal aliens. Is it really wrong to attack someone who is breaking the law?

    Dear Diverse Podium Admins,
Lloyd Hansen, in the above comment, is overtly calling for violence against undocumented individuals. His comments almost always share a central theme of dehumanizing people into the “other.”

I am amazed that his comments are still allowed to be published on this blog.

“Legal immigrants are not at the heart of political debate and are not the intended victims of hate crimes.”

Mr. Hansen is essentially saying that it is okay for hate crimes to occur as long the victims are undocumented. He is advocating harm against human beings and trying to justify it with untrue and uncited rhetoric regarding undocumented people.

I can’t understand how Diverse can sit back and let a known white supremacist spew such garbage.
