Obviously money begets money. How many blacks have been falsely accused and institutions have found the need to settle with the family(s) because “it is in the best intersts of the Duke community to eliminate the possibility of future litigation and move forward.”
It wasn’t the university which accused the players, so why are they required to pay out money to these three poor souls. Don’t get me wrong, I feel bad that these boys were falsely accused, I just don’t understand why Duke is paying them money because of a prosecutor who decided to use them for his gain.
I believe the university should have settled with the coach because he was treated unfairly by the university but paying these families…–Melvin

I am glad that those who are innocent were proven so and that this part of the matter will run its course. I am concerned that there has been no mention of the men who the DNA found belong to, nor of the lady and the things that she has had to endure.
