Don’t look now but, FCCJ has been certified to offer three (3) bachelor drgrees: Fire Science management, BS in Nursing, BS in Education. All are designed to fill a need.
Both the state and SACS have approved the additional programs. FCCJ is in the process of hiring more PhD’s to teach the classes.

As a student of Harper, and resident of Schaumburg, I have enjoyed the convenience of this college’s location to my home. It is the only way I would have been able, as a single mom, to work F/T and yet attend college. It been a long road, but a worthy one as it has demonstrated to my children (1 graduated from ISU, 1 graduating from NIU w/Golden Key Honors, who have both attended Harper for their Associates degree + my HS student who is registered for next Fall’s classes). I have been waiting for Harper to become a 4-Yr. college because that would probably be my only chance of attaining a desired B.A. before my retirement age. It’s been my dream and Harper would be able to further help me attain it! I’ve absolutely loved my classes at this college and with only two remaining classes + a lab for my Associates Degree, I already feel sad that my experience is drawing to a close. I would be thrilled to continue my education at Harper, which is so convenient to home!
Thank you so much for the learning experience!
Sincerely,
Kathleen M. Shook
